Tengku Dato’ Sri Azmil Zahruddin has been appointed as Non-Independent Director of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad on 1 July 2024. Tengku Dato’ Sri Azmil was the Chief Investment Officer at Khazanah Nasional Berhad (Khazanah) responsible for Khazanah’s investment portfolio. He also served Khazanah in various senior positions such as Deputy Managing Director and Executive Director of Investments since 2011. Tengku Dato’ Sri Azmil was also the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Airlines, and was previously Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to that he was in multiple leadership roles at Penerbangan Malaysia Berhad and PricewaterhouseCoopers in London and Hong Kong. He is currently the Chair of the Board of CelcomDigi Berhad and Independent Non-Executive Director of Sime Darby Berhad. He is also a member of the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board.
