Since joining CIMB in 1998, Ms Nor Masliza has accumulated a wealth of experience in Investment Banking, holding a number of leadership roles spanning across Debt and Equity Capital Markets, Loan Syndication, Project Finance, and Corporate Finance. Following her appointment as Deputy CEO of CIMB Investment Bank in 2019, Ms Nor Masliza has contributed significantly to the growth of CIMB’s investment banking franchise. This was demonstrated by CIMB’s No. 1 overall investment banking market position in 2023 and 2024 for Malaysia, top rankings for deal value across DCM, ECM and M&A in Malaysia, as well as strategic market expansion and CIMB’s top ranking in the Malaysian and ASEAN Capital Markets. During this time, she also enhanced CIMB’s cross-selling propositions, bolstered operational resiliency and strengthened her leadership bench.
Alongside her main role as CEO of CIMB Investment Bank, Ms Nor Masliza serves as Executive Director of CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd while also performing her role as Commissioner for PT CIMB Niaga Sekuritas. While she currently heads CIMB’s Corporate Finance department, a new Head of Corporate Finance will be announced soon. Internally, Ms Nor Masliza chairs the Investment Banking Management Committee, the Business Review Group and the Deals Committee, while also serving as a core committee member of the Deal Launch Committee. She is also a member of several country and group-level committees, consisting of the Group Underwriting Committee, the Group Wholesale Banking Committee and the Malaysian Business Review Committee.
Outside of CIMB, Ms Nor Masliza actively contributes to the wider investment banking industry, particularly through the Malaysian Investment Banking Association (MIBA), where she chaired the Debt Capital Markets Committee from 2015 to 2023 and continues to be a strong Council Member. In addition, she was also the ESG Champion and primary Industry Representative for MIBA in spearheading multiple sustainable finance initiatives.
In terms of qualifications, Ms Nor Masliza holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Distinction) in Finance & Accounting with a minor in Economics from the University of Michigan. In addition, she is a CFA Charterholder and holds a Capital Markets Services Representatives License from the Malaysian Securities Commission.
