Kuala Lumpur: CIMB Bank Berhad (“CIMB” or “the Bank”) reiterated that it will waive the RM1 fee for interbank cash withdrawals at its Automated Teller Machines (“ATM”) or Smart Recycler Machines (“SRM”) effective 1 July 2026, in line with the banking industry’s commitment to making financial services more accessible, inclusive and affordable. With this, Malaysian debit cardholders will be able to enjoy cash withdrawals at any of the 14,000 bank-operated ATMs and SRMs nationwide without paying any interbank withdrawal fee, regardless of which bank issued their debit card.

CIMB recognises that cash remains essential for many people and through this initiative, the banking industry supports all segments of society by ensuring practical, inclusive, and customer-centric financial services. The Bank is committed to empowering customers with the freedom to choose their preferred payment method, whether it is cash or digital, while advancing financial inclusion and improving the overall banking experience. This initiative reflects one of the many ways banks are helping customers better manage their day-to-day financial needs, amidst uncertain economic situations.

While promoting cash access, the industry also encourages the adoption of digital and cashless payments as Malaysia moves towards a digital economy. As Malaysia advances towards a fully digital economy, CIMB will continue to champion the adoption of secure, seamless, and convenient cashless payment solutions, as it continues to support all its customer segments.
